Our programs are created to inspire and encourage your child’s love for learning.  We guide and teach children, ages 2 to 6 years old, through an exciting educational journey. The Little Diamonds Learning Advantage is our unique method for encouraging your child to discover some of their awesomeness and develop a love of learning.

Language and Literacy

  • Your child learns to identify ideas and the various ways to express these thoughts and feelings through writing and speaking.
  • Your child will learn foundational literary skills and reading.

Cognitive

  • Support your child’s growing ability to interact with mathematics, science, history and many different academic endeavors.

Physical

  • The physical well being of your child is vitally important to their academic success.
  • They will be introduced to many different movement modalities to enhance their gross motor skills, balance, flexibility and strength.
  • Since we are located at BDKC (the largest indoor kids center in our area), your child will experience the unique fusion of education and movement in an entirely unique way.

Social

  • Support your child in developing the ability to interact, relate to and cooperate with others.

Emotional

  • Your child will learn to identify emotions he or she is experiencing and healthy ways to manage, regulate and use these emotions to accomplish tasks.

Creative

  • Your child’s brain will be inspired to create through art, music, dance and imaginary play.

LITTLE LEARNERS

Ages 2 to 3 Years

Little Learners is designed to focus all your child’s creativity and imagination into purposeful, learning play.  The goal for these students is to create a safe, supportive and fun environment for them to explore and discover the unique ways they can learn through play, individually and with a group.  Your child will experience a curriculum of activities to enhance their expression of language, understanding of words through books, following of simple directions, ability to interact with friends, gross motor development, basic counting skills and creation of art through different modalities.

Curriculum

Language and Literacy

  • Understand and link words to describe familiar objects, people, etc.
  • Make connections between drawing and the expression of ideas, thoughts and feelings.
  • Learn to ask questions about stories, “what is happening?”

Cognitive

  • Learn through more advance pretend play.
  • Follows two-step directions.
  • Sort objects by color, type and size.
  • Recite rhymes.

Physical

  • Improves walking, running and jumping skills.
  • Learns to climb with more confidence and safety.
  • Experiences basic tumbling, rolling and moving over objects.
  • Fine motor skill development, such as grasping and holding pencils.
  • Dance and movement to songs.

Social

Learns To:

  • Become aware of identity as a separate individual.
  • Play with or near other children.
  • Share and take turns with classmates.

Emotional

Learns To:

  • Develop confidence when facing new activities.
  • Express feelings.

Creative

  • Experiment with different art forms.
  • Create imaginary play with dress up outfits.
  • Music movement to song.

PRESCHOOL

Ages 3 to 4 Years

The Preschool Explorers’ learning adventure really takes off as their imagination and creativity are bursting forth with questions about how things work.  We guide your child through a curriculum of activities that help them learn foundational language, literacy, art, movement, physical activity, social, emotional and cognitive skills to further expand their passion and joy for learning.

Curriculum

Language and Literacy

Some of the learning adventure will teach your child to:

  • Identify and describes objects and their uses.
  • Understand basic uses of grammar.
  • Speak well enough for stranger to understand them.
  • Ask the “why” question of things.
  • Tell simple stories.

Cognitive

Some of the learning adventure will teach your child to:

  • Print some letters and shapes.
  • Understand spatial concepts like under, over and behind.
  • Understand the concept of same and different.
  • Follow two and three-step directions.

Physical

Some of the learning adventure will teach your child to:

  • Manipulate small blocks and build higher block towers.
  • Jump and hop on one foot.
  • Ride a tricycle.
  • Tumble and roll with more control and awareness.

Social

Some of the learning adventure will teach your child to:

  • Express affection.
  • Separate from parents with more confidence and courage.
  • Cooperate with classmates.
  • Look for ways to solve challenges.

Emotional

Some of the learning adventure will teach your child to:

  • Show concern and compassion for unhappy friends.
  • Express a variety of emotions.
  • Take positive calming steps when they feel frustrated.

Creative

Some of the learning adventure will teach your child to:

  • Create artwork with more details.
  • Experiment in more complex modalities.
  • Discover ways to be creative with movement and music.

TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN

Ages 4 to 5 Years

The Kindergarten Ready program is for students who will be transitioning to Kindergarten in the next year.  The curriculum at this level is focused on helping students develop all their kindergarten readiness skills so that they can continue to love learning in their next phase of education.  Some of these skills include language and verbalization task, classifying objects, phonological awareness, counting such as adding and taking away, social and emotional interactions and physical development skills like pencil holding and gross motor movements.  There is so much exciting fun and learning that happens at this level as your child gets ready to jump to their next learning adventure.
